MERRY CHRISTMAS... I suppose.

So, it's that time of year again. I mean Christmas people! As such, I am home and glad for it. Yes, I admit, I miss the Uni lifestyle, but then again it is also nice to be home for some R&R. I got home last Saturday evening and since then I have been to Stephen's party, experienced Absinthe, seen Gran, Grandad, Nanna, Auntie Tina, Uncle Ian, Callum, Chloe, Toby, Auntie Sue, Uncle Paul, Ryan and his Lady Jo, Emma and her husband Dan, and their daughter, Rosie. She was scared of me, or was it Mum? Perhaps the dirtied Nappy? Suffice to say, I have seen just about everyone I have come home to see and still there are things to do.

This Christmas it would seem, has become the least Christmassy Christmas ever used in one sentence, that is to say the least Christmassy Christmas ever. That is in the sense I have lost track of days and am only just coming to terms with the fact that yes, this is the night before X-mas eve. Which is weird. Marcus Brigstocke seems happy enough. HA!

Umm, where was I? GIT WIZARD! No, that's not it. Oh yes, my second cousin once removed (apparently). I always wonder what 'Once Removed' actually means? That my cousin had an affair, or that my second cousin once removed was, in fact, once removed from my cousin? Who knows. Suffice to say, it's a baby. How many babies a born a year? Yet still, women go all goggle eyed over them and become generally annoying. But then again, maybe I'm just annoyed because said baby cried out of horror at me? Umm... good things to come as soon as I have finished dinner.

I promise!

Re: OH SWEET MOTHER...

OK, calm down time now. It's not so bad. I mean, public humiliation comes along in about half an hours time, but I suppose if I can't laugh it off then I am going to find some other way to redeem myself. Don't suck in my next assessed piece of work - for example, be better prepared etc. I think that is what it came down to in the end, not being prepared, but this is only the first year and mistakes are there to be learnt from.

I think now I can safely move on and talk about last night, bringing in another factor of my flaws today, tiredness. I went to Pizza Hut at 6:30 with some of the radio crew, then arsed about in Pete's flat in Premium Towers - which was alright. Just discussed geeky shit and examined his vast collection of music which he has attained through his previous work in radio. Then after that we all went down to the Undercroft at 10.00pm and got quite drunk and had a bit of a laugh. Didn't get to sleep until about 3/4am and then was up at 8. In retrospect, that explains alot. Four hours sleep + stress = shaking with racked nerves.

It is SO my fault. Oh well...

OH SWEET MOTHER OF GOD!

Sweet baby moses on stilts, did I suck this morning or WHAT?! I should not be allowed near that mixing desk for anything other than phone calls, music and news. No talking unless spoken to. Plus - no figures of authority glaring at me disapprovingly. I should ask Matthew to formulate something of a less critical expression when correcting my cock ups. I have apologised to my group thoroughly though they assure me that it was not my fault. They're very nice for saying so. Public humiliation comes this afternoon at 2pm when they play it back. Hopefully if I draw what dignity I have left together I can formulate some kind of quivering lip that expresses my inner turmoil yet shows I'm being tough. May get some credit with the ladies.

Who am I kidding?

Well, at least I thought last night would have a better ending.

Last night, ultimately, had a bit of a poo ending really. I think I could have quite happily finished my evening with dropping Charlotte off at her flat. But no, I went back and it seemed everyone was getting a bit down. Which was sad. Pete wasn't feeling to great, poor bloke. Hope he's ok now thou.

BUT TONIGHT IS COMEDY NIGHT down at the old undercroft. If people don't enjoy that then either A)The Comedians suck or B) They're not bloody human!

Oh yeah....

Forgot to mention. WON THE PUB QUIZ AGAIN LAST NIGHT!

Me, Pete and Chris went down as is the Sunday tradition. There weren't many people down there, but still, enough to get £36 in the kitty. That's £12 each! I was well chuffed. As were Pete and Chris I imagine. We initially just went right home afterwards, but after a chance encounter with the flatmates and their dinner of fast food, I had the munchies set in. So, I went down to Kenton with them to get some grub. Has to be said, Kenton Kebabs was a tad disappointing as they were cleaning up, ready to shut for the night so the grill was out of commission for the night. No burgers unfortunately. But I did get some cheesy chips. That's like my 'regular' order in there now which is pretty sweet. We wandered down a a little further to 'California Chicken' where Pete and Chris got some meaty food. Then we came back. Tonight will be the night for more well ended stories though I feel.

Long time no post. Update Time methinks...

Suffice to say I have been rather busy, Uni life and all. That and a rather temperamental Internet connection. OK, not so much that, but for the past day and a bit I have had NO Internet in my room at Harrow Halls so I am going to blame it for everything today. EVERYTHING. Who killed all the Jews in the Holocaust? Not those pesky Nazi's that's for sure. Digital Village did - that's who. Incompetent twats don't even deserve web space they pollute with their heretical filth. Right now I am writing this in a Radio Editing room.

Now my initial rant is out of my system, I have to say I have made a little tweak to this here website, that would be the Smoke Radio player on the bottom of my old bloggipoo's which I wrote up in HTML and lots of people on my Radio Course have no splattered accross their MySpaces. So should you come accross it, just remember it was me who wrote it and made the graphics for it. Even if Chilvers does have some pics on Photobucket, they were on my web space first (http://www.stoobieland.co.uk/SmokeRadioBox.htm). Apart from writing that little gem, I have also been updating the Smoke Radio Wiki entry. Just look up 'Smoke Radio' on Wikipedia. I am listening to Smoke as I write this I should mention. It's got some pretty decent music and shows.

Oh yeah, and deferring back to my old ramble about Digital Village, they don't even have SMTP mail. So I thought 'fuck you Digital Village, I'm going to get a new email service, with blackjack... and hookers... in fact... forget the email'. I did all of that apart from forget the email. You can now ALSO contact me at the very shiny stoobie@stoobie-land.co.uk and probably ANYTHING@stoobie-land.co.uk. Not to shabby eh?

But more on the Uni life, as I'm sure right now I'm coming accross as a pasty faced Internet stop-in. I am out Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Sunday most weeks now, not because I'm a dirty alcoholic, but because to be honest, without planning in advance its the only thing to do on campus. Not that's its a bad thing. However, Danielle from my Radio Course has come up with the idea of our Radio Group going out for dinner on Thursday, which should be awesome. Will be nice to get together with all the folk before Christmas.

I am seriously considering buying a Wii. Seriously. It's tempting me like a bright light tempts the common moth. Stupid insects. It's cheap and looks so FUN (http://www.wiihaveaproblem.com). I mean, playing it after a few drinks will surely be where its at. And a Star Wars game for the Wii, with the Wii-mote. Oh god. That will be freakin' sweet. 'Vwwwmmm'.

Oh, and im doing pretty well with my Uni work, maintaining a steady 'above average' grade. I got a 65 in my latest essay for the theory side of my Media (Radio) Course, which was second highest grade in my seminar group and comes complete with the word 'twat' in a reference. Oh how I love University. Not REALLY professional, but its a legitimate reference. I think I may get the essay framed. Seriously.

Hmm, I think that pretty much brings you up to speed. I just need to warn you that after Christmas I am seriously considering getting up on the open-mike comedy comp. night. I don't know what the prize is and I don't know how harsh people can be. But, I make my new friends laugh, why not the rest of the campus?
